In many applications, this can eliminate the need for a separate line-output converter.

The exact installation depends on the vehicle and factory audio system.

Variable Low-Pass Crossover

The built-in low-pass crossover is adjustable from:

50Hz–200Hz

with a 12dB/octave slope.

This allows you to control the frequency range sent to the subwoofer and create a smoother transition between the subwoofer and the vehicle's main speakers.

A typical installation may begin around 70–100Hz and then be adjusted based on the vehicle and system response.

25Hz Subsonic Filter

The CXA1800.1 includes a fixed 25Hz subsonic filter with a 24dB/octave slope.

This reduces extremely low-frequency content that may create excessive subwoofer excursion without producing useful audible output.

This feature is particularly important in certain ported enclosure applications.

KickEQ™ Bass Boost

The CXA1800.1 includes KickEQ™ variable bass boost.

Adjustment range:

0–6dB at 40Hz

This allows you to add additional emphasis around the 40Hz region when appropriate for the enclosure and subwoofer.

We recommend using bass boost carefully.

A properly designed enclosure and correctly matched subwoofer will have a much greater effect on overall bass performance than simply increasing the boost.

RCA Pass-Through Outputs

The CXA1800.1 includes full-range RCA pass-through outputs.

This allows the signal to continue to another compatible amplifier.

For example, you could use the CXA1800.1 to power your subwoofer while passing signal to a separate amplifier powering the vehicle's full-range speakers.

This makes the amplifier easier to integrate into multi-amplifier systems.

 

 

Optional Remote Bass Control

The CXA1800.1 is compatible with the KICKER CXARC Remote Bass Controller, sold separately.

The remote allows the driver to adjust subwoofer level directly from the front of the vehicle.

This is particularly useful when switching between music with different bass levels.

KICKER also notes that the DBRC Remote can control two compatible mono amps or powered subwoofers from one knob.
